David Watt is Senior Vice President, Regulatory, Rogers Communications. Over the past 21 years at Rogers, Mr. Watt has worked on a variety of activities in the Finance, Planning and Regulatory Departments at Rogers.
Mr. Watt has participated in all wireless spectrum auctions, the Microcell, Call-Net and Mobilicity acquisitions as well testifying extensively before the CRTC on a variety of economic matters relating to telephone, cable and internet services.
He joined Rogers in September 1995, after 13 years with Unitel Communications Inc. At Unitel, he held various positions and served as Vice President, Pricing and Economics from July 1991 to September 1995.
Upon joining Rogers, Mr. Watt was seconded to the Canadian Cable Television Association as Senior Vice President, Economics and Telecommunications to lead the Canadian cable industries' activities in establishing the regulatory terms and conditions for local telephone service interconnection and competition and for cable company data communication services. Mr. Watt also served as Interim President of the Association for a five-month period in 1999. Mr. Watt returned full-time to Rogers in July 1999.
Mr. Watt holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in Economics from the University of Toronto and is a Certified Professional Accountant (CMA).
